NOTICE TO STUDENTS ON THE PROGRESS OF THE CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR SUBSIDISED ACCOMMODATION IN STUDENT DORMITORIES IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/27

The University of Zagreb Student Centre is publishing the Call for applications for the allocation of places for full-time students for subsidised accommodation in student dormitories of the University of Zagreb Student Centre for the academic year 2026/2027 on the basis of the Regulation on the conditions and manner of exercising the rights of full-time students to subsidised accommodation (NN 68/2023) of Ministarstvo znanosti, obrazovanja i mladih from 8 to 24 July 2026.

For the first time this year, the call for applications is carried out entirely digitally, with students completing an online application via the link: https://natjecaj.sczg.hr/student

Any data that the University of Zagreb Student Centre is unable to retrieve digitally will be uploaded by students into their application and processed by an operator.

Due to the renovation of accommodation capacities (pavilions 5 and 6 of SD Stjepan Radić; pavilion 8 of SD Lašćina), in addition to the quotas prescribed by MZOM (attached), during the implementation of the call for applications for accommodation in student dormitories, 906 subsidies will also be awarded to students who remain below the points threshold, in the amount of 152,00 €, as follows:

·        according to the final ranking list, 6,097 students are entitled to a student dormitory place

·        the first 906 students below the threshold are entitled to a subsidised accommodation allowance with a private landlord in the amount of 152,00 €

·        a student who has been granted a place in a student dormitory cannot receive the said subsidy

·        a student who is granted the subsidy (after the points threshold is lowered to their number of points) may move into a student dormitory but loses the right to the subsidy from the month of moving into the student dormitory

·        the next student on the waiting list may continue receiving the accommodation subsidy with a private landlord from the following month

The provisional ranking list of the call for applications will be published on 17 August 2026 on the website of University of Zagreb Student Centre and on the notice board at Savska 25. Objections to the results must be submitted within 8 days of publication, and responses to them will be known by 9 September 2026. After the responses to objections are published, the final ranking list is drawn up and published. 

Students will be able to reserve their accommodation immediately upon publication of the results of the call for applications, and will be able to move in by 21 September 2026. Anyone who does not reserve accommodation or does not move in by the stated date will be considered to have withdrawn from accommodation in a student dormitory. Students who are granted the right to an accommodation subsidy with a private landlord will sign subsidy payment agreements with the University of Zagreb Student Centre in October 2026.

During November 2026, the University of Zagreb Student Centre will publish a Call for applications for exercising the right to accommodation support for students with private landlords in the area of Grad Zagreb and Zagrebačka županija for the academic year 2026/2027 and will award 60,00 € per month for a total of 800 students who will not have been granted a place in a student dormitory or the right to accommodation support with a private landlord in the amount of 152,00 €. Students who are housed in pupil dormitories are also not entitled to accommodation support with a private landlord.
