Accommodation in a single room in a student dormitory for health reasons

A Committee composed of specialists in school and adolescent medicine will establish a ranking list of students according to the severity of their health difficulties, as well as a list of students for whom, due to health contraindications, accommodation in a single room is not recommended. After verifying the established right to accommodation in a student dormitory, University of Zagreb Student Centre will publish the said lists on its website, in alphabetical order.

Priority in the allocation of single rooms is given to students with more severe health difficulties for whom such accommodation will facilitate daily management of their condition, provided that staying in a single room does not endanger their own health.

Due to possible risks to health and/or life, accommodation in a single room is not recommended for students with the following diseases and conditions: epilepsy, diabetes, heart diseases, recurrent syncope, vertigo, and other diseases and conditions for which the Committee determines the existence of contraindications for the requested form of accommodation.

The application must contain:

·        first name and surname,

·        OIB,

·        name of the faculty or higher education institution and current year of study,

·        e-mail address,

·        phone number,

·        a request for approval of accommodation in a single room,

·        copies of medical documentation on the basis of which the student exercises the right.

Deadline and method of submission

Documentation must be submitted no later than 24 August 2026 to the following address:

Applications may be submitted by students of faculties and higher education institutions in the City of Zagreb, as well as pupils who have completed secondary school in the current school year and are applying for accommodation in a student dormitory for the first time (first-year students).

Students with a Group 1 disability are students with at least 60% determined bodily impairment or at least degree III of impairment of functional abilities in accordance with the regulation prescribing the assessment methodology, and who are registered in the Register of Persons with Disabilities (Pravilnik MZOM čl.3,st.3), are not required to submit an application for accommodation in a single room, as they exercise this right on the basis of their health condition, in accordance with the applicable regulations and the established documentation enclosed in the Call for applications for subsidised accommodation in a student dormitory in the academic year 2026/2027.

Objection

A student who is not satisfied with the expert opinion of the Committee may, within 8 days of the publication of the list, submit an objection by post to the same address to which the request was sent, or by e-mail to pisarnica@stampar.hr.

Issuing certificates

Certificates confirming the right to accommodation in a single room for health reasons will be issued on 10 and 11 September 2026, between 13:00 and 14:00 at the Služba za školsku i adolescentnu medicinu of the Nastavni zavod za javno zdravstvo „Dr. Andrija Štampar", Mirogojska 16.

The certificate is issued for a fee of 30,00 eura.
